OnePlus launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5 earlier this week. Currently the handset has undergone a comprehensive teardown over at MyFixGuide. The entire thing can be found at the Source linked below, but here’s the gist of it.
According to the disassembly process of the OnePlus 5, David (the disassembler) found that the smartphone’s internal structure has adopted the “Systematically Sealing Design” that helps protect internal components from environmental effects. The phone’s back cover is also sealed by foam cotton and other internal parts including the USB Type-C port have also adopted the sealing design. He compared the OnePlus 5 with smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Oppo, and Vivo, which have previously applied strict sealing design and gone through thickening process on their back corners.
However, MyFixGuide also found some weak points in terms of design on the OnePlus 5, saying that “some connectors have not been fixed by metal plate and its camera connector is easy to go loose.”
