Today Xiaomi has launched Redmi 4, its latest budget-friendly smartphone and the successor of last year’s Redmi 3S in India. It was introduced in China as Redmi 4X back in February this year, packs a 5-inch HD (720p) 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by a Snapdragon 435 (64-bit) Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 8 on top.

It comes in three variants – 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage, 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, the Redmi 4 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase-detection auto focus (PDAF), f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture.

It also has a unibody metal design, fingerprint sensor on the back which unlocks the device in just 0.3 seconds, hybrid dual SIM slot, 4G VoLTE support and packs a 4100mAh battery that promises up to 15 hours continuous video playback, up to 2 days of usage and up to 18 days standby.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is priced at Rs. 6,999 for the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage version, Rs. 8,999 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version costs Rs. 10,999. It will be available from 23rd May, 12 noon on Mi.com and Amazon.in. You can also get the smartphone offline from Mi Home in Bengaluru from May 20th. It is also a ‘Made in India’ smartphone, similar to most of the Xiaomi smartphones.
