The Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has officially confirmed to The Verge that its next flagship smartphone will be named OnePlus 5 and it will arrive this summer.

"OnePlus 3T"

OnePlus decided to skip the number 4 since it is considered unlucky in China. Though it will be the fifth phone produced by OnePlus, the company says that did not factor into its naming. One of the reasons OnePlus says for picking the 5 that is the number five jersey of a former NBA player Robert Horry, who is considered a favorite among many employees of the Chinese company.

Until now we only had teasers, rumors and leaks. They suggested that the smartphone will arrive with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and Dual rear camera setup. The RAM will be 6GB but leaks for 8GB appeared as well.
