After China, HMD Global starts rolling out Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update for the Nokia 6 smartphone in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The update weighs around 1.8GB in size and is available through over-the-air (OTA).

The update brings bunch of new emojis, gif support, home screen app shortcuts, bug fixes for USB and 4G network, enhance power saving and background management, and Android security patch for this month – May, 2017.

HMD Global issued an official statement about this specific update saying:

“Nokia 6 in Hong Kong and Taiwan received Android 7.1.1 update and also the May security update today. We are delivering our promise to provide monthly security updates and also regular systems updates. China version was updated to 7.1.1 already in April and also received the May security update early this week.”

As we know the OTA firmware updates are rolled out in stages, so it may take a few days before they reach all the devices out there. Notification for the update should automatically pop up on your device when it is available for you, or you can check it manually by heading to Settings -> About Device -> Software Update.
