The tech giant Google has started rolling out a new security update for Pixel and Nexus devices through over-the-air (OTA) and also posted factory images, as part of monthly Android Security release.

The latest update for this month (May) fixes several critical issues, including issues in Remote code execution vulnerability in Mediaserver, and Elevation of privilege vulnerability in Framework APIs, Mediaserver, Audioserver, Bluetooth, MediaTek touchscreen driver, Qualcomm bootloader, kernel sound subsystem and more. New builds for the Pixel & Nexus devices with May 2017 Android Security update:

  • Nexus 6P (N2G47O)

  • Nexus 9 LTE (N4F27B)
  • Nexus 9 Wi-Fi (N4F27B)
  • Pixel C (N2G47O)

The OTA update notification should automatically pop up on your device. If it’s not, heading to device Settings > About phone > Software update, to check it manually. You can also download the Factory images, or even OTA images for these Pixel and Nexus devices from the Google Developers website.
