Xiaomi has unveiled its second-generation VR (Virtual Reality) headset, called Mi VR Play 2 in China. It is the successor of the Mi VR Play, which was released last year. Compared to its predecessor, it’s made out of a new light-weight dragon cloth material, which should make wearing it more comfortable. The whole headset weighs just 183 grams.
The Mi VR Play 2 comes with open mobile phone cabin design and 268 invisible cooling holes that prevent the phone getting heated and offers better air circulation around your face while you’re using it. It can fit phones from 4.7 to 5.7 inches in size and comes with dual anti-reflective aspheric lenses that promises the best clarity.
On the top of the headset there is a navigation button that interacts with your smartphone during VR experience. It is also easy to clean says Xiaomi. It has elastic headband that is strong and durable.
The new Xiaomi Mi VR Play 2 is priced at CNY 99 (US$ 14 / Rs. 900 approx) and will go on sale in China from April 19th. There’s no word yet on whether it will ever be sold outside of China.
