HTC just launched U Ultra, its latest flagship smartphone and U Play mid-range smartphone at an event in India. Both the smartphones was announced last month in Taiwan.

"HTC U Ultra"

The HTC U Ultra comes with a 2.05-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the 5.7-inch Quad HD main display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 (64-bit) processor paired with 4 GB of RAM, has 64GB of expandable internal storage and runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) with HTC Sense UI on top.

In terms of camera, it has a 12-megapixel (UltraPixel 2) rear camera with large 1.55µm pixels, OIS, f/1.8 aperture and it can shoot 12-bit RAW & 4K (2160p) videos as well. On the front it has a 16-megapixel camera, which also has an Ultra Pixel mode that can output 4MP images with increased low-light performance.

"HTC U Play"

The HTC U Play has a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) display, is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 (64-bit) Octa-Core processor paired with 4GB of RAM, has 64GB of expandable internal storage and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with HTC Sense UI on top.

It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and a 16-megapixel front camera with Ultra Pixel mode.

Both the phones have a glass finish on the front and back with a metal frame and the rear glass is fully curved at all four edges. Unfortunately both the phones lack 3.5mm audio jack and the stock earphones plug into their USB Type-C port instead.

They also have new HTC Sense Companion software that uses an AI to learn about you and offer intelligent suggestions. It learns your most important contacts and apps, and surface related notifications. It will also advise you when to charge the phone, if your schedule indicates you may run out of power before bedtime.

The HTC U Ultra is priced at Rs. 59,990 (MOP) and it will be available from March 6th. The HTC U Play is priced at Rs. 39,990 (MOP) and it will be available mid-March. Both the phones come with one-year insurance that covers liquid damage and any physical damage to phones. They also come with 7.5% cashback offer using Standard Charted Debit or credit card from March 6th to May 31st, 2017.
