Gionee has launched its latest high-end smartphone in the M-series, the M2017 in China. It packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD (1440p) AMOLED Curved display, is powered by Snapdragon 653 (64-bit) Octa-Core processor, has 6GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB of internal storage and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Amigo OS 3.5 on top.

In terms of camera, it features a dual rear setup – 12MP + 13MP, offering 2x optical zoom and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. It also has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button, which integrates the fingerprint sensor and optical detection sensor seamlessly into a single sensor to authenticate the user’s true identity through fingerprints, blood flow and heart rate signals. It also allows users to enjoy the mobile payments using Alipay, WeChat etc.

The main highlight of the smartphone is it equipped with massive 7000mAh polymer lithium-ion battery, combined with Jin Li intelligent power management system and low power consumption display, which promises up to 25 hours of continuous video playback, 31.74 hours of continuous call and 915.42 hours of standby. It has support for 24W Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and dual fast charging chip.

The Gionee M2017 is priced at CNY 6,999 (US$ 1007 / Rs. 68000 approx) for the standard version, while the exclusive version with Italian custom alligator leather back costs whopping CNY 16,999 (US$ 2446 / Rs. 1,65,700 approx). It is now available for pre-order in China.
