Huawei has announced a new budget 4G smartphone under the Honor sub-brand, called Honor 5 Play in China. It has a 5-inch 720p display, is powered by a MediaTek (64-bit) Quad-Core processor, has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite on top. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera that also has a LED flash.

It has dedicated dual SIM slots along with a microSD card slot and comes with 4G connectivity with VoLTE (Voice over LTE) support.
