Just after it started rolling out this month’s Android security patch updates to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge flagship smartphones in India, Samsung has now started rolling out an identical update (dated July 1) for all unlocked variants of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge smartphones in the region.

The update brings all of Google’s latest patches for the Android OS, in addition to a handful of Samsung-specific optimizations, which includes a fix for a vulnerability that resulted in the Jack audio service enabling malicious applications to access or modify values in shared memory.

As usual, the update is rolling out in stages through over-the-air (OTA), so it may take a few days before your device pops up the notification for you. You can always check for the latest update manually by heading to Settings > About phone > Software update.
