Samsung has started rolling out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to the Galaxy A8 (SM-A800F) smartphone in India. The update is available through Over-The-Air (OTA) and it weighs around 1112MB in size, so do make sure you use Wi-Fi and free up enough phone space to grab the new update. It carries the build number A800FXXU1BPF5.

According to the official change-log, the update brings a new TouchWiz with enhanced usability and updated visual design, Quick connect feature that helps you to easily find and connect with nearby devices, Fingerprint protection, Advanced power saving mode which restricts background data and extends battery life, as well as a new vibration pattern concept for notifications. Obviously all of this comes in addition with the default new features in Marshmallow, including Doze battery saver Mode, Google Now on Tap, new app permissions and more.

As always, the OTA update is rolling out in stages, so it may take a few days before your device pops up the notification for you. You can always check for the latest update manually by heading to Settings > About phone > Software update.
