OPPO recently announced that it will unveil a new selfie-centric smartphone in the ‘F series’, called F1s in August. It is the successor of OPPO F1, which was the first phone the company dubbed as a “selfie expert”. Now the company has sent out press invites for the launch of the smartphone on August 3rd, in India.
OPPO already said that the F1s will be one of OPPO’s core products for the second half of 2016, but it didn’t reveal any specifications of the smartphone. According to latest rumors, the F1s will pack a 16-megapixel front camera, compared to 8-megapixel camera on the F1. It will also come with a fingerprint sensor on the home button that would let you unlock the phone in 0.22 seconds.
Commenting on the successor of the OPPO F1, Sky Li, OPPO Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business, said last week:
“Global reception for the F1 has been incredible and users have given us a lot of great feedback, so we wanted to go one step further to bring them the ultimate experience. The upgraded F1s is going to be a huge hit.
OPPO will continue to focus on perfecting and innovating smartphone photography going forward, with new breakthroughs on the horizon.”
