Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagship smartphones on 21st February at Barcelona, just before MWC 2016. We have already seen a number of leaks and reports of both the handsets and now we’re getting first hands on photos of the two devices in two different leaks.
The first leaked image comes from Vietnam and it shows the back of the Galaxy S7 smartphone. The source of the image has also revealed numerous specifications of the device. The Exynos version of the S7 has 15% more powerful than the Snapdragon 820 version for both CPU and GPU tests and both the Exynos and Snapdragon variants will come with a high-quality audio DAC (ESS Sabre 9018). There are also mentions of waterproofing, awesome battery performance with 0 to 80% percent charging within 30 minutes and 12-megapixel Britecell rear camera with f/1.7 aperture.
The leakster also mentioned the S7 and S7 Edge price in Vietnam – 16.49 million dong (roughly $740) for the Galaxy S7 and 19.9 million dong (roughly $890) for the S7 Edge.
The second image comes from Weibo by a user JKwan and it shows the Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G9350) comes with a curved screen, as you’d expect and it scoring 134,704 points in the AnTuTu benchmark test.
According to earlier reports, the Galaxy S7 edge will have a 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, powered by Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (depending on market), 4GB of RAM, a 12 MP Britecell rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, 5 MP or 8 MP front camera, 32 or 64GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and non-removable 3,600 mAh battery. It should run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top.
Moving on, it also seems like Samsung has applied a patent application with the USTPO and requested to trademark the term ‘Always On Mode’. It is touted that the feature uses just one percent of charge from the battery every hour. All the features and specs of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be confirmed in two more weeks.
