Motorola has now started rolling out the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update to the Moto G (2nd gen) 3G smartphone in India. The update is weighs around 464MB in size and it comes with new software version 24.41.34.en.03.
The new firmware update brings all the new Marshmallow goodies, including Google Now On Tap, Doze mode that helps improved battery life, redesigned App permissions, Do not disturb mode etc. It also includes Google’s security patches for the month of December.
The update is rolling out Over-The-Air (OTA) in stages, so it may be take a few days before your device pops up that notification for you. You can always check for the latest software update manually by heading to Settings -> About Device -> Software Update.
Update (18th Feb, 2016): Motorola also rolling out the Marshmallow OTA update for Moto G (2nd gen) 4G smartphone in India. The update brings software version 24.51.39.en.03 and is 453.9MB in size. It includes the Android security update for January, 2016.
