After introducing the ARCHOS 50d Oxygen smartphone and several Oxygen series tablets in last few days, the French company has now unveiled a pair of new smartphones in the ‘Diamond’ lineup. These are the Diamond 2 Note and the Diamond 2 Plus.
The Diamond 2 Note is the company’s latest flagship smartphone, which comes with a 6-inch “borderless” 2.5D curved glass IPS display with Quad HD resolution, Mediatek Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit SoC with 2GHz Octa-Core CPU and PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable internal storage, 16 MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus (PDAF) and dual-LED flash, an 8 MP selfie snapper, Hybrid Dual SIM slot with LTE Cat.4 support and a 3,610mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support.
The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Its dimensions are 158.35 x 82.7 x 8.7mm and it weighs 150 grams. The ARCHOS Diamond 2 Note comes in Silver color and is priced at 299€ / £249 / $279 (depending on markets) and will be available in May.
Moving on, the Diamond 2 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS 2.5D curved glass display, MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) 64-bit SoC with 2GHz Octa-Core CPU and Mali-T860MP2 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable internal storage, 20 MP rear camera with laser auto focus and dual-LED flash, an 8 MP front camera, Hybrid Dual SIM slot with LTE Cat.6 support, a fingerprint sensor on the back, USB Type-C port and a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support.
It too runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Its dimensions are 148.3 x 73.8 x 8.3mm and it weighs 130 grams. The ARCHOS Diamond 2 Plus will also be out in May and comes in Black and White colors for €249 / £199 / $229 (depending on markets).
Both smartphones will be showcased at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona next week from February 22nd to 25th at ARCHOS’s booth – Hall 1 booth 1G29.
