The giant Smartphone maker BlackBerry has just rolling out first software update for its first Android Smartphone – “Priv“. This is a maintenance update which offers a bunch of new changes, improvements, and optimizations. The update is available Over-The-Air (OTA) and is 475 MB in size.   • An improved camera: We’re implemented a number of tweaks that improve the speed of our camera app, and re-tuned it for better low-light image quality.
  • Better performance: We’ve also tweaked the PRIV’s software to improve overall system performance.
  • Improved stability: The update further includes a number of adjustments designed to improve device reliability and reduce instances of crashing and freezing.
  • Enhanced security: Lastly, the release includes December’s security patches – rest easy knowing your device is protected against the latest Android security threats.

The update is currently available for all Priv units which are directly purchased from Carrier versions’ update will begin rolling out on 7th December. You can manually check for the software update by going to Settings > About > System Updates > Check for Updates and choose to apply the update.

BlackBerry has also announced that many of its pre-installed/ official apps including Blackberry Keyboard, Blackberry Hub, Blackberry Camera and DTEK will be updated via Play Store on December 14.
