The Giant Smartphone maker Xiaomi has finally announced the newest version of MIUI, the MIUI 7 alongside the new Redmi Note 2 Smartphone in China. The latest UI is based on Android v5.1 Lollipop and comes with lots of new features, themes and improvements.

Face recognition in the Gallery is one of the latest features in MIUI 7, which can recognize faces and sort images according to the people in it, in the People tab. The software is even able to identify and differentiate pets.

It brings a new Baby Photos app that’s shareable with certain family members. A special Kids Mode has also been introduced which enables children to use the device, and gives users more control on what kids see on the Smartphone.

MIUI 7 also has a handful of new themes, specific to male and females. It’s including a pink ‘Goddess’ theme specific for women.

MIUI 7 has also comes with a new app called Mi Roaming, which is something like a virtual SIM card for when you go out of your country. The app allows users to purchase data packages from Xiaomi and use them. That’s mean you won’t have to change SIM cards. This feature is only available in China for now.

Lastly, the latest UI from Xiaomi allows users to set videos for contacts, which play when the person calls you.

The MIUI 7 will start rolling out OTA (Over The Air) for Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 2A, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Redmi, and Redmi Note users from tomorrow in China.

Note: Xiaomi will be officially announcing the MIUI 7 Global ROM update in India on August 19.
